Trail Etiquette: Keep It Fun for Everyone
We want everyone to have a safe and awesome time out there — so here are a few friendly reminders to keep things rolling smoothly:
- Stick to the right and cruise in your lane. Be kind and share the path!
- Pass on the left, and make sure it’s safe before going around. Yield to anyone coming the other way.
- Bikes always yield to pedestrians — even if they’re taking their sweet time.
- Give a heads-up when passing! Call out a friendly “On your left!”
- Stay on the trail — the land around it is private, and we want to keep things respectful.
- No shortcuts through private property — even if it looks like a cool detour.
- Pack it in, pack it out. Let’s keep our trails beautiful. Take your trash and recyclables with you.
Road Safety: When the Trail Meets the Street
- Obey stop signs and signals just like you would in a car.
- Look both ways before crossing any road — even if it seems quiet.
- Ride in the same direction as traffic when you're on a street.
- Use hand signals to show when you're turning or stopping.
- Be visible. If you’re riding near cars, turn on your lights and wear bright colors if possible.
- Keep both hands on the handlebars when riding near traffic — and stay alert.
- Dismount and walk your bike across busy intersections if you’re unsure.
