Double Date Adventure

Meet two local couples from Greece, NY, who traded an ordinary evening for a memorable double date along the Erie Canal. With young kids at home, they finally found a chance to sneak away together and enjoy a few carefree hours with friends.

The weather couldn't have been better. Bright blue skies, sunshine, and a perfect 78-degree afternoon created the ideal setting for an e-bike adventure.

They met us in Fairport around 3:30 PM, where we got them fitted to their RadRunner Plus e-bikes and gave them a quick orientation. Within minutes, they were confidently cruising west along the Erie Canal toward Pittsford, taking in the beautiful scenery and enjoying the easy, relaxing ride.

Their first stop was Schoen Place, where they locked up the bikes and wandered through one of the canal's most picturesque destinations. Before heading back, they treated themselves to homemade ice cream at Pittsford Farms Dairy—a must-stop on any summer ride.

With plenty of time before dinner, the couples enjoyed the leisurely ride back to Fairport, soaking up the sunshine, chatting along the trail, and appreciating a few hours away from the daily routine. They returned their bikes at the Junction Train Platform on Liftbridge Lane before hopping in their cars and making the short drive back to Pittsford for their dinner reservation at JoJo Bistro & Wine Bar.

It was the kind of summer evening that's hard to forget: beautiful weather, scenic canal views, great friends, delicious ice cream, and an incredible dinner to finish the night. It's proof that one of the best date nights in Rochester doesn't require a big trip—just a couple of e-bikes and a sense of adventure.
